Summary
This study compares bariatric surgery to standard medical weight management in 200 adults with severe obesity (BMI 30 or higher) and high-risk cardiovascular disease. The goal is to see if surgery reduces major heart problems like heart attacks, strokes, and heart failure hospitalizations. Researchers will also check cost-effectiveness and effects on mental health and heart structure.
