Summary
This trial is testing whether a combination of Bao Yuan Tang, a traditional Chinese medicine extract, and galactooligosaccharides, a type of prebiotic, can improve sleep quality, reduce fatigue, and support better metabolism in female nurses who work night shifts. The study will include 400 nurses aged 25-45 who report sleep issues or fatigue. Participants will take the supplement twice daily for three weeks, and researchers will measure changes in sleep quality, stress hormones, and blood lipid levels.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Bao Yuan Tang full-component extract combined with galactooligosaccharides
- What this could lead to
- If effective, this combination could offer a natural, non-drug option to help shift-working nurses sleep better, feel less fatigued, and improve metabolic health.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early-stage trial, and the benefits are not guaranteed. The effects may be modest, and individual responses could vary. As a dietary supplement, it is not a substitute for medical treatment.
