Microwave probe aims to clear cancer-blocked airways, but study halted early

NCT ID NCT06105606

First seen Apr 18, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested a new microwave tool, called AveCure, to open airways blocked by tumors in people with lung cancer. Doctors used a thin tube with a camera to guide the probe and burn away the blockage. Only 3 people took part before the study was stopped, so we don't have enough information to know if it works well.
