First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tests whether an extra nerve block given during weight-loss surgery can lower pain, nausea, and the need for painkillers in the first three days after the operation. About 200 adults having gastric bypass or sleeve gastrectomy will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care or an additional nerve block around the stomach. The goal is to improve recovery and reduce reliance on opioids.
