This study looks at whether scarring (fibrosis) in the heart's upper chambers can predict who will develop an irregular heartbeat after heart surgery. Researchers will track 50 adults aged 40+ with no prior irregular heartbeat who are scheduled for heart surgery. The goal is to see if more scarring leads to higher risk, which could help doctors better prevent and manage this common complication.
