Diabetes and aspirin: new study checks if the pill really works

NCT ID NCT05105919

First seen Dec 08, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study looks at how well a daily low-dose (80 mg) enteric-coated aspirin works in 50 adults with type 2 diabetes who have not taken aspirin recently. Researchers measure blood platelet function before and after 7 days of aspirin to see if the drug fully prevents clotting. The goal is to gather information for a larger future study, not to provide a treatment.
