700 migraine patients tracked to see how well newer drugs really work
NCT ID NCT07159750
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This observational study will follow 700 people with migraine who are prescribed anti-CGRP drugs (monoclonal antibodies or gepants) for prevention. Over two years, researchers will track changes in monthly headache days, migraine impact, and disability. The goal is to see how these treatments perform in real-world settings, outside of controlled clinical trials.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Anti-CGRP drugs (monoclonal antibodies: erenumab, galcanezumab, fremanezumab, eptinezumab; gepants: rimegepant, atogepant)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this study could provide real-world evidence on how well these migraine preventives work in everyday practice, helping doctors choose the best treatment for each patient.
- What could go wrong
- This is an observational study, not a controlled trial, so results may be influenced by patient selection and other factors. It does not test new drugs but observes existing ones, so no new treatment will emerge directly.
