First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study aimed to see if Alzheimer's disease affects the nerves in the gut, similar to what happens in Parkinson's disease. Researchers planned to take extra colon biopsies during routine colonoscopies from people with Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and healthy individuals to compare. However, the study was withdrawn before enrolling any participants, so no results are available.
