Can we predict who will benefit most from atrial fibrillation ablation?

NCT ID NCT06381245

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study follows 340 people with atrial fibrillation who are having their first ablation procedure. Researchers will track heart rhythm using remote monitoring, along with imaging and blood tests, to find which factors—like patient health, heart structure, or electrical signals—best predict whether the ablation works. The goal is to better understand why some people stay free of arrhythmia while others experience a return of the condition.

What this could lead to

If successful, this could help doctors personalize treatment plans and improve long-term outcomes for people with atrial fibrillation.

What could go wrong

This is an observational registry, not a treatment trial. It may identify patterns but won't prove what causes success or failure.
