New ACL graft shows promise in tiny trial

NCT ID NCT06091488

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026

Summary

This study tested a new material called OrthoPure XT for repairing torn anterior cruciate ligaments (ACL) in the knee. Ten patients received the graft and were followed with questionnaires and MRI scans to assess knee function, pain, and healing. The goal was to see if OrthoPure XT is a safe and effective option when other graft types cannot be used.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

OrthoPure XT (a graft material for knee ligament reconstruction)

What this could lead to

If successful, OrthoPure XT could offer a reliable option for ACL reconstruction when other graft sources are not suitable.

What could go wrong

This was a very small study (10 people) with no comparison group, so results may not apply broadly. Long-term safety and effectiveness are not yet established.
