First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study looks at two ways to treat persistent atrial fibrillation in people aged 75 and older. One approach uses a pacemaker plus a procedure to block the heart's electrical signal (AV node ablation). The other uses a procedure to isolate the pulmonary veins. The goal is to see which method reduces hospital stays and improves quality of life. About 196 participants will be followed over time.
