New scan may sharpen radiation targeting for brain cancer patients

NCT ID NCT02104310

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding a special PET scan (18F-DOPA) to the usual MRI can help doctors better plan radiation treatment for people with certain brain tumors (malignant glioma). About 25 participants will have both scans, and researchers will compare how well each identifies the tumor. The goal is to see if the PET scan can more accurately target the cancer while sparing healthy brain tissue.
