First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a 12-week structured exercise program (NASM OPT) in 120 non-athletic women who haven't exercised in 6 months. The program includes hip thrusts, squats, and glute bridges, progressing through three phases. Researchers will measure gluteal strength, hip shape and lift, and low back pain compared to a control group doing light walking and aerobics.

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a simple, drug-free way to reduce low back pain and improve hip appearance in women who don't exercise.

What could go wrong
