Purulent labyrinthitis

A labyrinthitis which is a bacterial infectious disease of the inner ear, often causing deafness and loss of vestibular function. This is caused when bacteria spread to the inner ear during the course of severe acute otitis media, purulent meningitis, or an enlarging cholesteatoma.

  • Can a single pill stop post-surgery sickness? new ear surgery trial aims to find out.

    Symptom relief Not yet recruiting

    This study tests whether the drug aprepitant can reduce nausea and vomiting after ear surgery. About 100 adults having middle ear procedures will be randomly assigned to receive the drug or a placebo. The goal is to see if it improves recovery comfort.
