Could a second drug boost stroke recovery?
NCT ID NCT05892510
First seen May 22, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether giving a clot-busting drug called tenecteplase directly into the brain artery after mechanical clot removal helps people recover better from a severe stroke. About 462 adults with a large vessel occlusion stroke will be randomly assigned to receive either the drug or a placebo. The goal is to see if the drug reduces brain damage and improves functional independence.
