MRI may spare pancreatic cancer patients from unneeded surgery
NCT ID NCT05428358
First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looks at whether adding an MRI scan to the usual CT scan helps doctors choose the best treatment for people with pancreatic cancer. About 200 patients who are initially thought to be candidates for surgery will be randomly assigned to get either a CT scan alone or a CT plus an MRI. The goal is to see if the MRI finds hidden liver tumors that would make surgery less helpful, allowing doctors to recommend other treatments instead.
