Knee cartilage study stopped early after enrolling just 4 patients

NCT ID NCT04184687

First seen May 22, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026

Summary

This study looked at people having surgery to fix a torn ACL who also had cartilage damage in the knee. It compared standard treatment to a newer technique called nanofractures. The goal was to see which approach led to better knee function and healing. However, the study was stopped early and only included 4 people, so no strong conclusions can be drawn.
