First seen Dec 16, 2025 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This early-stage trial is testing a new drug called IDE892, alone or combined with another drug (IDE397), in people with advanced solid tumors that lack a gene called MTAP. What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

IDE892 (a PRMT5 inhibitor) and IDE397 (a MAT2A inhibitor)

What this could lead to

If successful, this could lead to a new treatment option for several hard-to-treat cancers that have a specific genetic deletion (MTAP).

What could go wrong

This is a very early (Phase 1) trial with a small number of participants, so safety and effectiveness are not yet known. The drug may not shrink tumors or could cause significant side effects.
