Do HIV drugs cause other health problems? major study tracks patients for answers
NCT ID NCT03483584
Summary
This study aimed to understand and compare the long-term health risks associated with different HIV drug treatments. Researchers followed 215 newly diagnosed, treatment-naive HIV patients in Hong Kong for up to five years after they started medication. They tracked the development of various non-AIDS health conditions, like heart disease, bone loss, and kidney problems, to see if one type of drug regimen was safer than another.
