Summary
This study tests whether starting cholesterol-lowering treatment in the emergency department can help prevent future heart attacks and strokes. It involves 130 adults aged 40-75 who are at risk for heart disease but not yet on preventive medication. The approach follows national guidelines and aims to lower bad cholesterol levels over 30 days and 6 months.
