Summary
This study looked at whether detergents found in everyday products like toothpaste can make the lining of the esophagus leaky and cause allergic inflammation. Researchers tested 12 healthy volunteers by measuring changes in the esophagus after exposure to detergents. The goal was to understand a possible cause of eosinophilic esophagitis, a condition where the esophagus becomes inflamed.
