Chilled platelets may stop bleeding better in heart surgery

Summary
This study compares two ways of storing platelets (blood cells that help stop bleeding) for use in heart surgery patients who are bleeding. One method keeps platelets cold, the other at room temperature. The goal is to see if cold-stored platelets work just as well and are safe. About 150 adults having heart surgery will take part.
