Scientists test 'Off-the-Shelf' immune cells to fight deadly brain tumors
NCT ID NCT07480941
Summary
This is a first-in-human study testing a new type of cell therapy for adults with recurrent or progressive glioblastoma or other high-grade brain tumors. The therapy uses 'off-the-shelf' natural killer immune cells that are genetically engineered to recognize and attack two specific markers found on the patient's tumor. These modified cells are delivered directly into the brain area where the tumor was removed to try to control the cancer's growth.
