Summary

This large study compared three common blood-thinning medications to prevent dangerous blood clots in the lungs and legs after hip or knee replacement surgery. Over 18,800 patients were randomly assigned to receive aspirin, warfarin, or rivaroxaban for 30 days after their operation. The goal was to find the best balance between preventing clots and avoiding serious bleeding side effects.
