ER-based program aims to cut teen suicide risk in half

Summary

This study tests a new suicide prevention program for teens at high risk of suicide who come to the emergency department. The program involves both the teen and their family and is compared to standard care. The goal is to see if it reduces suicide attempts and repeat ER visits over six months. About 330 teens aged 12-17 from three Canadian hospitals are taking part.
