Summary
This study tested if a step-by-step checklist (the YEARS algorithm) could safely rule out dangerous blood clots in the lungs of cancer patients without always needing a CT scan. It compared this method to the standard approach of doing a CT scan for everyone. The goal was to see if the checklist could reduce radiation exposure and hospital visits while keeping patients just as safe.
