First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jul 24, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study compares two weight management programs for children who have had acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). About 80 children and their caregivers will be randomly assigned to either a basic educational program or a more intensive guided self-help program. The goal is to see which approach better helps children maintain a healthy weight and improve overall health after cancer treatment.

- behavioral intervention (weight management programs)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could provide an effective way to help childhood leukemia survivors maintain a healthy weight and reduce long-term health risks.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial with only 80 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The programs require family commitment and may not work for all.
