NCT ID NCT07436013
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares two versions of gastric bypass surgery for people who regained weight or didn't lose enough after an initial sleeve gastrectomy. Researchers will track weight loss, quality of life, and food tolerance over 5 years in 240 adults. The goal is to find out if adding a silicone ring around the stomach pouch improves outcomes.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Revisional laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass with or without a silastic ring
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show which revisional surgery is more effective for long-term weight loss and quality of life after sleeve gastrectomy failure.
What could go wrong
This is a surgical trial with inherent risks like infection or complications. Results may not apply to all patients, and long-term benefits are uncertain.
