Scientists test personalized pain relief for millions of women
NCT ID NCT03844412
Summary
This study tested different treatments for vestibulodynia, a common chronic pain condition affecting the vulva. Researchers compared a numbing cream, an antidepressant pill, a combination of both, and a placebo to see which best reduced pain and improved quality of life. They also looked for biological markers in the blood to help predict which women would respond best to each type of treatment.
