Blood clot prevention trial for glioma patients launches

Summary
This study tests whether the blood thinner apixaban can safely prevent blood clots in people with newly diagnosed grade 4 brain tumors (glioblastoma or astrocytoma). About 40 participants will take apixaban while undergoing standard radiation and chemotherapy. The main goal is to see if the drug is safe and reduces the risk of venous thromboembolism.
