NCT ID NCT07241988
First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tested whether using virtual reality glasses or listening to white noise can reduce pain and anxiety during a common medical procedure: inserting an IV. 76 adults were randomly assigned to one of three groups: VR, white noise, or standard care. Right after the IV was placed, they rated their pain and anxiety. The goal was to see if these simple, drug-free methods could make the experience more comfortable and increase patient satisfaction.
