VR headset eases kidney stone surgery jitters in new trial
NCT ID NCT07620873
First seen Jun 02, 2026 · Last updated Jun 02, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether using virtual reality (VR) to teach patients about their upcoming kidney stone surgery can lower their anxiety and help them learn how to care for themselves afterward. About 90 adults scheduled for surgery will be randomly placed into one of three groups: standard education, standard VR education, or a special two-tier VR education. Researchers will measure anxiety, knowledge, and self-care ability before and after the teaching session.
