Your voice may reveal hidden heart trouble: new study tests simple phone call screening
NCT ID NCT07212816
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tests whether analyzing a person's voice during short phone calls can detect atrial fibrillation, a common heart rhythm disorder. Forty adults scheduled for a cardioversion procedure will provide voice recordings before, right after, and at a follow-up visit. The results will be compared with standard ECG tests to see if voice analysis can reliably tell a normal rhythm from an irregular one. If successful, this could lead to a low-cost, device-free way to monitor heart health remotely.
