Vitamin d tested as muscle booster for aging population
NCT ID NCT07275177
Summary
This study tested whether taking a daily vitamin D supplement for 12 weeks could help older adults with obesity improve their muscle strength and physical function. Researchers gave 29 participants in southern Mexico a high daily dose of vitamin D and measured their grip strength, muscle mass, and ability to perform daily tasks before and after the program. The goal was to see if correcting low vitamin D levels could help reduce age-related muscle loss and weakness.
