First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study is looking at how common low vitamin D levels are among Black men with prostate cancer, and whether vitamin D supplements can improve their immune function. Researchers will measure vitamin D and immune markers in blood samples before and after supplementation. The goal is to understand if correcting vitamin D insufficiency helps the immune system work better.

What this could lead to
If successful, this study could show that correcting vitamin D insufficiency improves immune function in Black prostate cancer patients, potentially pointing toward a simple way to support their health.
What could go wrong
This is an early-phase study with a small number of participants, so results may not apply broadly. It is designed to gather information, not to test a treatment for cancer itself.
