First seen Dec 16, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tests whether using virtual reality (VR) during needle placement can reduce pain and fear in children aged 6 to 16 with acute leukemia. About 120 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care or VR during each needle stick over three months. The goal is to see if VR makes the experience less painful and less scary for the child and their parents.
