Summary

This study tested whether using virtual reality (VR) at home can help people with chronic low back pain feel better and move more. Over 400 adults with back pain for at least 3 months were randomly assigned to one of three VR programs: one teaching pain-coping skills, one providing distraction, or a sham version. Participants used the VR headset and a Fitbit for 90 days, and reported their pain levels and daily function through questionnaires. The goal was to see if VR can be a safe, non-drug option to reduce pain interference in everyday life.
