First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested a device called the Vertex Pulmonary Embolectomy System in 123 people with a sudden, severe blood clot in the lungs (pulmonary embolism). The goal was to see if removing the clot could reduce strain on the right side of the heart and keep patients safe. The main measures were changes in heart chamber size on CT scans and any major complications like bleeding or device-related injuries within 48 hours.
