Eye infection aftermath: scientists map hidden blood vessel damage
NCT ID NCT07175311
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tracks 71 people who had endophthalmitis, a serious eye infection, to see how their eye blood vessels change after recovery. Using special cameras and scans, researchers will take pictures of the back of the eye at 7 days and 1 month after the infection clears. The goal is to create a library of images showing these changes, which may help doctors better understand and manage the condition in the future.

What could go wrong
This is an observational study with no treatment being tested, so it will not directly lead to a new therapy. Results may not apply to all patients.
