Vaccinating donors to arm transplant patients against dangerous virus
NCT ID NCT03560752
Summary
This study is testing a new approach to prevent a common and dangerous viral infection called CMV in people receiving a stem cell transplant for blood cancer. Researchers are giving a vaccine to the healthy stem cell donors before the transplant. The goal is to see if the donor's boosted immunity can be passed to the patient, helping them fight off CMV after the transplant.
