First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated Jun 10, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding a special balloon pump (called LV unloading) to a standard heart-lung machine (VA ECMO) helps people with severe cardiogenic shock. About 104 adults will be randomly assigned to get the balloon pump or not. Researchers will measure heart function and fluid buildup over 5 days to see if the extra device improves recovery.
