NCT ID NCT07427498
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This observational study will examine whether prior expectations increase false perceptions in Parkinson's patients who experience visual hallucinations. About 60 participants, including patients with and without hallucinations and healthy volunteers, will complete a computer-based face detection task and cognitive tests. The goal is to better understand the mechanisms behind hallucinations in Parkinson's disease.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could help explain why some Parkinson's patients experience hallucinations, potentially guiding future therapies.
What could go wrong
This is an early observational study with only 60 participants, so results may not apply broadly. It does not test any treatment.
