First seen Mar 27, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study aims to improve how doctors tell apart lymphedema and lipedema, two chronic conditions that cause leg swelling and are often confused. Researchers will use special ultrasound techniques to measure skin thickness and tissue stiffness in 75 people (25 with lymphedema, 25 with lipedema, and 25 healthy). The goal is to find reliable, non-invasive imaging markers for accurate diagnosis, helping patients get the right treatment sooner.
