Summary

This study investigates how lipedema — a condition causing abnormal fat buildup in the legs — affects muscle structure and walking. Researchers will use ultrasound to measure leg muscle and tendon thickness in 45 women with lipedema and compare them to 45 healthy women. A foot-pressure mat will also analyze how weight is distributed during standing and walking. The goal is to identify the root causes of gait problems in lipedema, which could lead to better prevention and treatment strategies.
