Sound waves vs. radiation: race to ease Cancer's bone pain
NCT ID NCT04307914
Summary
This study is testing whether a non-surgical treatment using focused sound waves (MR-HIFU), either alone or combined with standard radiation therapy, can relieve pain from cancer that has spread to the bones faster and better than radiation alone. It involves about 216 adult patients with painful bone metastases across Europe. The main goal is to see which treatment provides better pain relief two weeks after treatment and improves patients' quality of life.
