New ultrasound technique could simplify hip pain surgery

NCT ID NCT06064136

First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests a new way to perform psoas tenotomy, a surgery that cuts a tendon to relieve hip pain after hip replacement. Instead of using a camera or X-ray, doctors will use ultrasound to guide the cut, which may be faster and leave smaller scars. The study will include 15 adults who need this surgery and will check if the pain goes away and how well they recover.
