New ultrasound technique could simplify hip pain surgery

NCT ID NCT06064136

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new way to perform psoas tenotomy, a surgery that cuts a tendon to relieve hip pain after hip replacement. Instead of using a camera or X-ray, the surgeon uses ultrasound to guide the cut, which may be simpler and less invasive. The study will enroll 15 adults who have hip pain after hip replacement and will check if the pain goes away after the procedure.
