Sound waves target brain to calm uncontrollable shaking

NCT ID NCT07172295

Summary

This study is testing whether a non-invasive, focused ultrasound device can reduce hand tremor in people whose shaking doesn't improve with medication. It will involve 12 adults with Parkinson's disease tremor, essential tremor, or dystonic tremor. Researchers will use the NaviFUS system to deliver sound waves to a deep part of the brain, measuring changes in tremor severity and checking for safety.
