First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests whether a daily tributyrin supplement (taken 3 times a day for about 3 months) can improve memory, thinking, walking, and balance in adults with Parkinson's disease who also have mild cognitive impairment or dementia. Researchers will compare tributyrin to a placebo and use brain scans and performance tests to measure effects. The trial enrolls 45 people aged 45 and older and also monitors safety and side effects.
