New study trains therapists to ease Cancer-Related distress with proven techniques

Summary
This study trains psychotherapists to deliver personalized, evidence-based therapies to cancer patients and their caregivers who are feeling high levels of distress. Therapists will choose from approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and meaning-centered psychotherapy to address issues such as anxiety, depression, pain, fatigue, and insomnia. About 75 patients, 25 caregivers, and 15 therapists will take part over 26 weeks. The goal is to see if this training leads to acceptable and helpful care.
