Could the time you take chemo make a difference? new trial investigates
NCT ID NCT06850766
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This pilot study looks at whether taking the chemotherapy drug temozolomide at a specific time of day (morning or evening) is practical for people with glioblastoma, a type of brain cancer. Fifty adults who have completed surgery and radiation will be randomly assigned to take their medication either within 2 hours of waking or within 2 hours of bedtime. The main goal is to see if patients can stick to the assigned schedule, which could help plan a larger future trial.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
temozolomide (TMZ)
What this could lead to
If successful, this study could show that timing chemotherapy to the body's natural rhythms is practical, paving the way for a larger trial to see if it improves outcomes.
What could go wrong
This is a small pilot study with only 50 participants, so results may not apply broadly. It tests feasibility, not effectiveness, so even if timing works, it may not improve survival or quality of life.
